Where does the rubber duck come from?
Who created the first rubber duck is still unknown, but it's highly believed that it happened somewhere at the end of the 1800s, where rubber toys first started to be produced. One thing you should know though is that some people are smarter than others. Peter Ganine took the opportunity and created a sculpture of a rubber duck that he later also patented. This gave him the right to mass-produce his sculpture into the floating toy as we know it today. He sold approximately 50 million pieces and is what we would refer to as - a fucking genius.
Something else you probably don't know is that there are hundreds of frozen rubber ducks in the Arctic Ocean. Calling us liars? Well, it's actually true and happened due to a container falling overboard from a freight ship in 1992. This container contained approximately 29 231 swim toys of which the majority where rubber ducks. With winds and streams, they later traveled in large groups to join the marvelous ice of the Arctic Ocean. If we were to create a movie about this, we would definitely call it Ducktanic and the main actor would be no one else than Leonardo Duckaprio.
